All our group photography courses have a maximum of six students but we do understand that some people prefer 121 Photography Tuition. Private Tuition days are £325 during the week and £400 at the weekend.
The 121 photography days are also better if you want to spend more time on a certain type of photography or it may be possible to mix and match to some extent – maybe a combined Lightroom and Photoshop tuition day. Training runs 9.30am to 5pm and includes a light lunch.

Previous providers of these courses have spent far too much time on unnecessary camera settings and constant adjustments. This course is so much more practical and I learnt a huge amount. I would highly recommend anyone interested in photography to get on one of these courses and you will surprise yourself how quickly your photographs improve. A great tutor who delivered the course content in an easy to understand and relaxed manner. Ian Cadwallader

The DPC Filter Kit – From £45 – Buy Here
I’m constantly being asked to recommend filters for various courses so I decided to finally source my own set. I usually suggest buying filters from Amazon but some of their filters of variable quality and the sellers fluctuate so it’s difficult to provide consistent links. Several students have suggested I should sell a filter kit and so that’s what I’ve done.
The “DPC Universal Filter Kit” consists of a UV, a Polariser, an ND8, an ND64 and a close up +2. To keep things simple I’m initially only buying these in a 62mm filter size, to suit my recommended Tamron18-270mm, but the cunning plan is to also include a 52-62mm stepping ring, for Nikon users, and a 58-62mm stepping ring, for Canon users. We also have a 82-77mm Kit.
Stepping Rings allow each filter to be used on a wide variety of lenses and save money in the long run by not having to buy multiple filter sizes. The UV filter is there for protection while the ND8 and Polariser is required for the Intermediate Course. The Close-up filter will help to prepare people for the Macro Course. The ND64 can also be used on the Intermediate Course and is a six stop filter which will allow you to get great pictures of flowing water. (See below for seaside example)
There is also a 82-77mm option for people with the 10-20mm (24mm) wide angle lenses at £60 which contains all the same filters except the Close-up.
NEW! There is also a 58-67mm option, at £45, with the same filters as the 62mm kit, and a 67-62mm and 67-58mm stepping rings. This is useful for people with the new Tamron 16-300mm or any lenses with a 67mm filter thread.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was definitely of benefit to me having the 1 to 1 tuition. I look forward to practising the techniques. Nick Ward

I attended the 121 Beginner’s Course with Glen at the end of February and was a little skeptical that I would really come away understanding all those areas he listed under course content – surely I would never learn all those things, in one day? But wow, I was very, very impressed. Glen is a great photographer, and a great teacher – the two don’t always go hand in hand. I haven’t been on Auto since and now for the first time in seriously years, I feel I know my camera and at last can enjoy taking it out!
Needless to say, I’ve since booked the 4-course-package deal and can’t wait to learn more. If in doubt, book your course now – you can only regret what you don’t do rather than what you do! Liz Staveley
I’ve really enjoyed this course and I look forward to putting it into practice. I’m not scared to use my camera anymore. Glen explained everything very well – even to such a non technical person like myself. Julia
I knew some of the technical side of photography, having had a camera for a while, but I wanted to know about composition and how to frame a photograph. I’ve had an excellent day and learnt a lot. It will certainly make a difference to my photography. Les B.
This day has made me so much more aware of the points I need to think about when taking pictures. The theory was well explained with a good combination of techniques , examples and trouble shooting tips. The course maintained a good pace with just the right amount of information and practical exercises. Carol B
Hi Glen.
I’m just dropping you this note to say how much I enjoyed today. The course answered all my questions and has given me the confidence to go out and use my camera properly. Today has turned my box of expensive gadgets into top class photography equipment. Thanks! Barry C.
